How To: Manually Update Student Passwords – ATOC Moodle 2.6

August 23, 2016 |

If you have returning students using the Automotive Technology Online Curriculum and they have forgotten their curriculum site password the instructor can help them out.  Listed below are the steps needed for the instructor to manually update student passwords.

Log into the curriculum site.

From the Administration block on the left side of the screen choose Site administration.

Choose Users.

Choose Accounts.

Choose Browse list of users.  All the accounts in the site will display.  Sort the list by last name or use the filter option to find the specific student.

Click on the student’s name.  Their short profile page will display.

Choose Edit profile from the Administration block on the left and their profile options will display.

Enter a new password in the New Password field.

Check the box titled:  Force password change.  The student will be required to create their own password the next time they log in.

Be sure and scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Update profile button.

Give the new password to the student.  Have them refresh their internet browser and ask them to log in with the new password.
